Sub Station
Posted December 14th, 2007 by LindsayUsed to walk past here before they built the houses. Early mornings coming home from friends, the hum of this sub-station could be heard from the top of the road; a menacing backdrop on the horizon of audible noise which included domestic normalities such as alarm clocks and the dawn choruses of birds.

Subjects and Questions
Posted October 8th, 2007 by LindsayFor my Master of Fine Arts degree I started looking at the cross-over of interior and exterior landscapes. My initial investigations were done in quite a basic way, where I concerned myself with the sanitised representations of ‘man-made’ nature contained in domestic interior and exterior decoration, taking the separation of space provided by architecture for granted. The time-span that predominately interested me was from the 1750’s through to the Victorian age.

Lasagne
Posted September 30th, 2007 by LindsayThis dish was cooked yesterday evening for a fellow artist and occasional co-conspiritor on projects. It was served with garlic bread, rocket leaves, avacado and washed down with a crisp Pinot Grigio. Following our meal we watched 'The City of Lost Children' a film about an evil scientist who kidnaps children to steal their dreams. The film was directed by Jeunet of Delicatessen fame, and as you would imagine, was a darkly cinematic experience.
Domestic Sub-mariner
Posted September 22nd, 2007 by LindsayI’ve always been into submarines and ships, and basically anything that is big, metallic and man-made with an engine. From my grade C in physics and the realisation that ‘I ain’t no Einstein’, I allowed my working life to direct my interests. Two of my early career choices were apprentice mechanic and HGV driver, where I viewed myself as a practical pioneer of women’s rights to work in jobs that were at that time, mainly dominated by men.
